What is a safety culture
Safety culture is a combination of the attitudes, values and perceptions that influence how something is actually done in the workplace, rather than how it should be done. It is the 'how we do things around here'. A good safety culture ensures that the how we do things includes safety, assessment of risk and all the small decisions and actions work towards preventing harm and keeping our people safe.
We all want a good safety culture but sometimes life makes things difficult. Time pressures, economic constraints and everyday circumstances sometimes seem to prevent good safety culture.
